EdTech Implementation Research Summit (Charlotte, North Carolina)

Date
Jul 24, 2018
7:30am - 1:00pm

The University of Virginia’s Jefferson Education Exchange (JEX) is hosting regional summits with educators, institutional leaders, and other edtech decision-makers, to discuss and debate key variables that contribute to the effectiveness of edtech procurement and implementation. We want to understand what works for whom, within what contexts, and why.

This invitation-only summit, co-hosted by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), is a follow-on to the EdTech Efficacy Research Academic Symposium with the following goals in mind: (1) to share key insights and learning from the Symposium to a larger audience; and (2) to workshop new ideas related to how we can better understand education technology implementations. Specifically, we are convening innovative educators, educational leaders, and edtech decision makers from K-12 and higher education to identify critical implementation factors that influence the effectiveness of edtech tools.

The summits are designed to foster collaborative discussion and action to shape a new generation of edtech implementation. We want to draw upon the collective expertise of the participants to consider how we can improve edtech procurement and implementation while building a culture of applied research and informed practice.
