Blake Bussie is the Manager of Operations and Social Media at the Jefferson Education Exchange.
At the Jefferson Education Exchange, Blake serves as the point-person working closely with the leadership team to participate in the planning and operational support for national events. In addition to providing administrative support, he monitors and engages on social media daily, looking for opportunities to connect with key audiences. He quickly identifies digital conversations and trends that the Jefferson Education Exchange could join, engaging new and existing audiences in creative ways.
Prior to joining Jefferson Education Exchange, Blake had completed his Bachelors of Science in Marketing from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC). There he attained a plethora of positions where he managed creative teams, implemented social media strategies, and learned to produce the most innovative marketing solutions under the umbrella of SIUC. As an undergrad, Blake was involved with several professional organizations including being the Vice President of the Business Leadership Council, the Marketing Director of the business fraternity Pi Sigma Epsilon, and the Director of Marketing at the Student Programming Council.
After graduating, he decided to pursue his Masters of Professional Media and Media Management from Southern Illinois University Carbondale to learn more in-depth on digital media practices, market research, and branding. As a graduate student, Blake's thesis focused on digital media relationships that technological consumers have with celebrities and how they can be a large influential factor in their daily lives. Blake is committed to enhancing the Jefferson Education Exchange brand and voice forward to ensure that educators have a voice and student learning is continuously being driven forward by appropriate edtech implementation.
